Do you want to become a Sandals travel agent? It’s a really fun and meaningful career; we love it. Here’s all you need to know!
The good news is, it’s fairly easy to become a Sandals travel agent, especially if you are already a certified travel advisor. If not, that is your first step. We recommend joining a Sandals preferred travel agency, as they will be able to help you launch your career and access higher commissions.
Here are the steps to follow to become a Sandals travel agent:
- Get an IATA accreditation if you aren’t already a certified travel advisor.
- Complete the training to become a Certified Sandals Specialist. This is an 4-module online course that teaches you everything you need to know about the Sandals and Beaches resorts and how to book them. It generally takes less than a week to complete.
- Get on the Sandals Travel Advisor Portal to access advice from Business Development Managers, the booking platform, promotional content you can use, bonuses and incentives, and information about free trips to learn more about the resorts (called FAM trips).
- Stay certified by completing a workshop online each year, booking at least one trip to a Sandals or Beaches resort, and registering it in the portal
- Consider specializing in destination weddings at Sandals and Beaches (called a WeddingMoons Specialist)
- Grow your expertise by visiting the resorts in person and continuing your study of all things Sandals and Beaches
- Market your services actively, utilizing the materials that Sandals provides and the advice of your Business Development Manager as well as being active on social media and going to events such as honeymoon and wedding shows
- Build relationships with clients using tools like email newsletters and social media
- Aim for membership in the Sandals Chairman’s Royal Club, which is an invitation-only group for top-performing Sandals travel agents that gives you access to inside info and special perks including increased commissions. We are proud to be Sandals CRC members at the highest level.
